PROJECT LESSONS LEARNT: ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS

A critical part of a successful project is the ability to identify and apply applicable lessons learnt and successes throughout the project life cycle. Key to the success is capturing the lessons learnt and making it available from one project to the next.  Capturing lessons learnt on projects is always a challenge.   From practical experience it has become clear that the actions resulting from a lessons learnt exercise, can be either reactive or proactive. If the facilitator focuses on symptoms of the lessons learnt, chances are that the remedial actions will be reactive.

Following an approach where root causes of lessons are understood, provides an opportunity to prevent the occurrence of these issues on future projects.  On Friday 30th September, Davida van der Walt and Freek van Heerden from Owner Team Consultants return to the Knowledge Series to share with attendees a root cause analysis approach to project lessons learnt.
