The Global Alliance for the Project Professions (GAPPS) is an independent, global, non-profit organisation that develops and promotes competency-based standards for project, programme, and portfolio management. Its primary focus is to establish internationally recognised benchmarks that define what professionals should be able to do, rather than prescribing specific methodologies. GAPPS standards are designed to be adaptable across industries and regions, supporting consistency in professional capability while allowing for local context. The organisation collaborates with professional bodies, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders to advance the recognition and portability of project management competencies worldwide. By emphasising outcomes, performance, and assessment, GAPPS contributes to the professionalisation of the discipline and enables organisations to align talent development, certification, and workforce capability with globally accepted standards.
