ABOUT THE EVENT
'Exploring and defining effective and successful sponsoring of a project'

Research is showing that having an effective sponsor is the biggest contributor to project success (PMI Pulse of the Profession). Yet the role of the sponsor is poorly implemented in most organisations. What should a sponsor be doing and what competency do they require?

The Global Alliance for Project Performance Standards (GAPPS) developed a performance framework for Project Sponsors through consultation with many organisations, sponsors and project practitioners. This included South African organisations. The standard was published in 2015 and is available in the public domain from the GAPPS website (www.globalpmstandard.org) .

At this Knowledge Series workshop the speakers will share the thinking behind the standard and what organisations around the globe are seeing works to achieve effective and successful sponsoring of project.
