In support of the national theme “Women united in Moving South Africa Forward” announced by the Minister of Women, Susan Shabangu, PMSA in partnership with Sanlam & Santam invites our female project managers to attend an exclusive Women’s Day breakfast on Friday 14th August 2015.
Aspiring professional female PMs, women active in mentorship or those looking to become involved as a female mentor or mentee are encouraged to attend this inspiring event.
The event is free of charge but seats are limited and registration is essential. Please follow the prompts to register.
ABOUT THE TALK
In an emerging and dynamic profession female project managers are best placed to understand and contribute to the diverse environment in which they practice. Featuring talks by dynamic women in the project management environment this event shares the journey of the speakers, their ups and downs as well as their insights on using women empowerment as a tool for advancing themselves and their profession.
RETHABILE THABA
Rethabile Thaba is one of the speakers that will be featured at event.
Rethabile is an independent project management consultant with 10 years’ experience in the profession. She has worked on projects in various industries ranging from Education, Rural Development, Public Participation in the mining sector, Events Management, Enterprise IT systems implementations, Community ICT implementations, Construction Project Management.
In 2014, she led the successful roll out of the iSchoolAfrica Rural Development Programme, which saw over 2500 iPads being rolled out to the poorest and most rural schools across South Africa in a partnership between Think Ahead Education Solutions and the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform.
She holds a Diploma in Project Management, international accreditations from the Project Management Institute (PMI) - CAPM and PMP - as well as a Degree in Development Studies and a Post Graduate Certificate in Strategic and Change Management.
Rethabile is passionate about the role of women in Project Management and is committed to advancing the involvement of women in the profession through coaching and mentorship. She believes that the current crop of women in project leadership positions have a responsibility to create opportunities for a new generation of bold, assertive female project managers who can take South Africa forward.
Rethabile is one of the youngest female Professional Member at Project Management South Africa (PMSA).
YVONNE MOELA
Yvonne Mankoe Moela is a Chief Construction Project Manager at the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements. She has over 11 years’ experience in the profession in various Departments in the public sector. She has worked as a project manager for Limpopo Departments of Public Works and National Department of Public Works. She has been involved with various construction projects, i.e. construction of schools and houses in different areas. She has been involved with successful completion of projects such as security installations at Klerksdorp Prison and construction of over 10 000 RDP houses in areas like Naledi and Doornkop in Soweto and Soshanguve.
She holds a Bsc in Quantity Surveying from the University of the Witwatersrand and Msc Real Estate from the University of Pretoria. She is registered with South African Council of Construction Project Managers (SACPCMP).
Yvonne is passionate about changing the lives of many women by ensuring that they have access to good quality houses. She believes that when a basic need of shelter is met it will be easier for these women to start dealing with other issues that affect them.
