Adam Weinberg is a project manager at Ecentric Payments Systems, a leading electronics payments systems integrator nationally; processing transactions for some of South Africa's biggest retailers. Adam's work experience is primarily in the IT industry and specifically in electronic payments, where he also worked as a Project Manager and Technical Analyst at ACI Payment Systems for some years.

Adam completed his MSc in Project Management from UCT in 2013, his BSc in Electrical & Computer engineering from UCT in 2010 and is also working towards a BSc in Applied Mathematics through UNISA.

In his aspirations to become a better IT Project Manager, Adam aligned his MSc research topic to the success of IT projects, which won him McKinsey & Co. and PMSA awards, as well as the opportunity to share his findings with the greater audience of project managers.

TALK INFORMATION:

This talk will provide an overview of the MSc research completed by Adam Weinberg in 2013, thesis topic: “The Project Implementation Profile’s Applicability to IT Project Success: An analysis of the key success factors”. 

The research investigated the applicability of the Project Implementation Profile (a tool to measure project success) to IT projects. Specifically, the research aimed to formulate a revised list of key success factors for an IT-specific project success measurement tool. The findings of the research were novel and identified several limitations with the existing tool, which paves the way for future research in the field.

The methodology, findings and recommendations of the research paper will be discussed and shared during the talk.
