PMSA Gauteng invites you to the 2013 PMSA Annual General Meeting followed by an evening talk titled 'Eskom Back 2 Basics: Project Tools Programme' presented by Alex Daneel and Kenneth Chitenhe.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Alex Daneel

Alex is an Executive Manager at Eskom Holdings, the South African Electricity Utility supplying 95% of South Africa’s electricity needs.

Alex was instrumental in the business design and support set-up of the R300bn Capital Expansion Program in Eskom, during his capacity as Chief Information Officer for the Engineering and Capital Expansion Business.

Alex now leads the Project Tools Programme, focusing on the standardization, optimisation and simplification of processes and systems for Project, Programme and Portfolio Management across Eskom.

Alex holds a BCompt degree and MDP (Project Management) from Unisa. He is a family man and sport lover, especially golf.

Kenneth Chitenhe

Kenneth Chitenhe graduated with honours in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe in 1987 and worked in the railway industry during the initial part of his career, specializing in 25kV AC rail electrification infrastructure. He has subsequently spent the bulk of his working career in the construction industry where he has worked both as a contractor and as a consultant.

Kenneth has worked as an electrical building services engineer on such diverse projects as waste water treatment plants, hospitals, high rise commercial buildings, shopping malls, and schools. On gaining the PMP accreditation with the Project Management Institute in 2005 and subsequent PrCPM registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Professions, Kenneth began to focus more on project management. He has managed the refurbishment and upgrades of two hospitals in Gauteng, as well as the planning for a new hospital in KwaZulu Natal. Other projects include managing the construction of 8 SAPS contact points at various train stations for Intersite in the Tshwane region. Kenneth regularly participates in PMI activities and has attended 2 EMEA Global Congresses. His major areas of interest in project management include Earned Value Management, Risk Management, and PMOs. He still maintains a strong interest in electrical engineering with the main focus areas being electricity storage, rail electrification, and renewable energy. He is employed as CEO of the Rail & Hydrocarbons division of LTE Consulting (Pty) Ltd, and has been seconded to Eskom’s Project Tools Programme from May to November 2013.
