During this event, seasoned programme manager and Master NLP practitioner, Jacques Moolman, shares insights into the mindset and related attributes that are crucial for project management success. These "non-techniques" are generally not included in project management courses and books which focus heavily on tools, techniques, and processes. Barely a mention is made of the underlying intangibles such as attitudes, mindset, and personal philosophy, that are all-important for being a good project manager. In practice, the "soft stuff" is just as essential—if not more so—since it provides the cohesion for the "hard stuff" (the tools and techniques), enabling the effective and consistently application thereof.

The presentation will explore areas such as:

• The intangibles and how they can be cultivated and embedded
• The soft stuff and the hard stuff: The relationship between Non-techniques and the project management tools and techniques
• The obstacles that prevent or inhibit the holistic development of project managers
• Designing your ideal self as Project Manager and plotting your way there
• The role and value of coaching and mentoring in cultivating the Uber-PM

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jacques Moolman is a Programme Manager with more than twenty years' experience in a variety of industries, including mining, telecommunications, cash management, and retail. Having started his career as a project administrator, Jacques worked his way through the various strata of project management, gaining experience as an industry generalist and project management specialist. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Project Management from Cranefield College of Project and Programme Management, and is an AgilePM practitioner, accredited internationally with the Agile Project Management Group.


In addition to his experience in project management, Jacques is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-linguistic Programming. For the past twenty years he has applied the philosophy, principles, and techniques of NLP to coach individuals and groups to resolve the obstacles that stand in the way of their personal and professional success, in a natural and spontaneous manner
