ABOUT THE EVENT
|
The goal of the talk is to discuss the role of a project manager in agile environments. It will focus on the tremendous potential that exists if agile delivery teams chose to make use of best practice in project management delivery and methodologies currently available to enhance their ability to succeed.
The talk will touch on the Project manager's role to develop a mind-set that can be used to successfully deliver project deliverables without compromising the good environment in which agile teams already enjoy.
Highlights include discussion of the challenges faced today by the myth that a project manager is focussed on the command and control environment whilst agile teams prefer to be empowered to make decisions on what they do best and be led by servant leadership style of leadership.
The presentation will address some of the roles and responsibilities of a good project manager working in an agile environment to provoke thoughts and bring up interesting concerns in todays agile project management environment and covering the necessary project governance requisites according to best practice.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr Laban Mwansa
PMP, Prince2, Agile
Laban is considered an expert in the ICT and Telco space when it comes to project management. He has over 20 years’ experience in the field, holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and brings a wealth of international experience having worked in Europe, South Africa and Zambia delivering cutting edge solutions.
Laban delivers corporate trainings in PMP, COBIT5, PRINCE2 and PRINCE2 Agile. He is an accomplished speaker whose presentations are always informative, interesting, provocative and fun. Laban is fluent in English, Czech and Russian and he is a keen chess player.
