In order to apply for a PM designation applicants must be able to provide the following portfolio of evidence through their membership profile:

Curriculum Vitae

A chronological history of your work experience including job descriptions, key responsibility areas and contactable references reflecting at least 3 years working experience managing low complexity projects or 5 years working experience if you do not hold an NQF 7 industry-related qualification

Copies of qualifications, accreditations and/or certifications

These should include at least one of the following:

A locally recognised, industry relevant qualification at NQF 7 or higher
A foreign qualification accompanied with a SAQA Certificate of Evaluation at NQF 7 or higher
Without an NQF, a recognised project management certification or accreditation

Completion of Project Complexity Questionnaire

Based on the Crawford-Ishikura Factor table for Evaluating Roles as detailed in the GAPPS Framework for Performance Based Competency Standardsthis simple, online questionnaire allows you to rate the complexity of the projects you manage.

PMSA Signed Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

Statement of Authenticity

All members must complete and sign a statement of authenticity that declares the authenticity of the information supplied as well as a peer statement completed and signed by a project sponsor, client or senior/equivalent team member. Please click here for a printable copy

Project Competency Questionnaire

Once you have completed your initial online application you will be asked to complete an online competency questionnaire for evaluation. The questionnaire serves as part of your portfolio of evidence towards eligibility as a designation-holder. The project competency questionnaire includes questions asking you to describe your current role as a project manager delivering six identified competency units and supplementing this with sample, historical documents that illustrate your performance
