ABOUT THE EVENT
Whether you are setting up a strategic PMO or evolving your existing one, you want to be taken seriously. PMOs are often hampered in their ability to make a strong enterprise-wide impact because of little to no authority. What we have learned in previous sessions is that if the leadership of the organisation recognise the strategic contribution that the PMO can make, they create a position at the top table for this portfolio. But this does not happen across the board.
Join us at our next PMO Forum event to explore what it takes to shift organisational thinking about the value of a PMO. During this session, attendees will have the opportunity to help craft the Strategic PMO Leadership House - a toolkit of suggested skills, behaviours and competencies that will equip PMOs to move from being tolerated to being respected.
Our speaker for the day: Mary-Ann Kemp
Mary-Ann is currently the Head of Operations for QBIT, a niche business consultancy that specialises in designing and implementing Human Capital Data and Functional Architecture. Part of her portfolio is QBIT’s PMO, but prior to this she has headed up the Operations and Change capability in Old Mutual’s FinRisC Services, and had been the Programme, Change and Transition Manager for several large-scale strategic programmes.

REGISTRATION
The PMO Forum acts as an invitation-only Interest Group of Project Management South Africa (PMSA) and is sponsored by PwC.
The forum presents a regular opportunity for discussion and knowledge transfer by means of case studies, best practices, research outcomes and lessons learned presented by senior project professional and other knowledgeable individuals who form part of the forum or may be invited as presenters. There are no costs involved for attendees as the event is sponsored. Each meeting is dedicated to a specific topic where a subject matter expert introduces the topic in a 45-60 min talk and we then have structured conversations around the topic in smaller groups
Forum membership includes:
PMO practitioners who enable, support and ensure the delivery of change at a project/programme/portfolio level
Senior project and programme managers interested in getting a better understanding of how their PMOs can contribute to improved delivery and realisation of organisational value
People in senior leadership positions who are interested in getting a better understanding of the services offered by PMOs and the potential benefits for their organisation
People in strategy or business change enablement functions/positions who form the critical link between strategy planning and execution.
