ABOUT THE EVENT

Liberty Group SA’s PMO is evolving and has recognised the importance of the role that the PMO plays in bridging the gap between Liberty’s 2020 strategy implementation and business results. Lea Bomvana, with over 14 years’ experience in both public and private sector PMOs and in her current role of Divisional Director for Strategic Projects at Liberty shares her journey and insights to building their strategic PMO.

Join the next not to be missed PMO Forum event to explore this case study:

- Explore both the strategic and tactical aspects of creating their strategic PMO;
- Share their successes and challenges around their mission, structure, staffing and portfolio and project processes;
- Gain insight into the obstacles encountered when positioning and defining their strategic PMO mandate; and
- Identify best practices and environmental factors that helped their strategic PMO implementation succeed and ultimately become a valued delivery tool within the organisation.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Lea has 14 years IT Project Management experience occupying various roles in IT PMOs – both in the public and private sector. She is currently responsible for bridging the gap between Liberty’s 2020 strategy and the intended results.

Prior to joining Liberty, she enjoyed a 5 year successful tenure at Transnet SOC Ltd, where she was Deputy Chairman of the Transnet Project Management Forum as well as a Portfolio Manager in the Group IT PMO. She established and structured the Group IT PMO and standardised project governance processes across Transnet’s 7 Operating Divisions.

Between 2003 and 2008, she held the position of Assistant Director and subsequently Deputy Director in various Gauteng Provincial Government Departments, where she was responsible for managing projects that advance the mandate of those departments.
