Mwansa Saidi - 'Infrastructure Development towards 2030: The South African Context'

As the Programme Manager for the Infrastructure Delivery Improvement Programme, a National Treasury project, Mwansa Saidi provides strategic support to the TAU. Ms Saidi has also served as Director in Charge for the Infrastructure Delivery Improvement Programme assisting the South African national government in improving the health and education infrastructure in four of the nine South African provinces.

Ms. Saidi earned her Master of Science Degree in Project Management from the University of Pretoria.

INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER

Dirk Vervacke - 'Infrastructure Project Control: How do we determine if projects have achieved their objectives?'

Dirk Vervacke grew up with a fascination for technology and wanted to become an old school engineer. Master in Science they call it nowadays. He ended up specializing in industrial chemistry and also did many courses like business management as well as typical engineering and information technology.

Up until 2007 he worked for chemical companies in the US, France and Belgium where he focused on implementing technologies and starting up new customer production facilities worldwide. In 2007 he started off on his own because he felt the need for more flexibility in order to do what he wanted to do: projects. 

He started the company Product Rescue and works as a free range engineer, a term he coined to express the necessity of intellectually walking about in the professional space . Whether it’s moving a company from England to Romania, improving production of food in Peru or documenting the electricity production protocols in Belgium, the subject doesn’t matter that much as long as it has project dynamics.  He currently works on a three year project in Russia  at the Tomsk Polytechnic University in Siberia where he heads up the international laboratory for thermoset polymers to research catalysts and develop new formulations for dicyclopentadiene resins. Being near the end of this project, the future is again undetermined and very interesting.

By showing your support through sponsoring a table at the International Project Management Day Breakfast, you will receive a reserved table for 7 or 8 attendees. The table seats 8, however, you have the option of leaving one seat empty for a thought leader, making for interesting breakfast-time conversation and knowledge sharing. You are also entitled to display your company banner and hand-outs in the venue.
