About The Presentation

Topic: Virtual Project Management during and after COVID-19


Virtual Project Management has become our new way of life during and after COVID-19.

The presentation will focus on the impact of COVID-19 which has forced project practitioners to change their normal and traditional way of managing projects. How can virtual project management be applied successfully during and after COVID-19, what are challenges, opportunities and the impact of working from home.
As we are geared for 4IR, how can technology be used effectively – here we will be looking at the on-line tools e.g. video and teleconferences (Zoom, MS Teams, Slack, Jitsi etc.), tracking and reporting tools, Wi-Fi connectivity, sharing and storage of documents and training portals.


Lastly, now is the time to change into a new way of life of a project practitioner – are you ready?
The presentation will be based on discussion format – members will be encouraged to participate.

 

About the Presenter

   Vusi Manana, Programme Manager – SITA

Vusi Manana has 20 years of project and programme management in large Telecommunications and ICT public sector entities.

He started as a Technical Officer at Telkom SA and occupied the following positions: Document Management and Web Manager, Executive Support Manager and later as a Project Manager.  He then joined the State IT Agency (SITA) as a Project Manager and later appointed as a Programme Manager. He is accredited of forming the first fully functional Project Management office (PMO) within the company. His passion is to impart knowledge and develop up and coming project practitioners. He is the former PMSA President – KZN Branch.

Vusi holds a B. Admin degree (UNISA), Post Grad Diploma in Programme Management (Cranefield) and he is a certified Prince 2 Practitioner.
