ABOUT THE EVENT
Managing risks related to the delivery of capital infrastructure programmes is complex due to the dynamic nature, societal requirements and cost implications of such programmes. The importance of programme risk management in the delivery of these programmes is now widely acknowledged. However, implementing programme risk management in practice presents challenges that are different from project risk management.
The presentation explores programme risk management challenges described in literature and experienced in practice.
Emmanuel Mulambya of North-West University proposes a practitioner-informed model of programme risk management challenges.
This model provides a diagrammatic view of the landscape of programme risk management challenges not previously presented, and illustrates the mutual relationships
among these challenges.
The model is intended to facilitate a holistic understanding of programme risk management challenges, and in so doing, assist with the delivery of programmes in the public
and private sectors.
