ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Hannelie is a Data Architect,  DataLead (Principle)  at Old Mutual Group Finance.    She is currently leading  a significant and strategic data and reporting optimisation programme for the Finance Function.  Hannelie is an experienced data scientist with a strong background in management accounting and business intelligence, with extensive experience in Business Intelligence Technology, Financial Reporting and Project Management in the Retail and Financial industries. 

Hannelie’s academic background is in Accounting,  Financial Planning and Project Management with her  MBA Degree titled:  “Developing a Systematic approach to the performance management of project managers”.   This broad base of academic and industry experience enables her to  integrate different fields of expertise.  

Hannelie has a passion for data and technology which enables  her to envision the future and then develop and execute on the associated Data Architecture and Business intelligence strategies while she also manages an operational data capabilities function.  She works at finding optimal ways to use Agile and use it to deliver given complex business processes and environments.   

Hannelie thrives in a fast paced environment, and particularly enjoys the opportunity to learn and share knowledge and experiences.   She also has a passion for helping people learn and grow.    She talks about finding her teams “super powers”  and using those to structure a high performing team.

Other characteristics that she enjoys challenging the status quo and finding ways to improve effectiveness,  she  loves a good discussion and debate.   On a personal note amongst other activies she loves waterskiing and has her own motorboat.
