ABOUT THE EVENT
According to the PMBOK 5thedition, up to 90% of a project manager’s time is spent communicating and managing stakeholders.
No matter how long the list of qualifications and certifications a project manager may have, without strong relationship management skills, the ability to engage, influence, bargain with, “sell”, persuade and adapt their communication to suit an individual, a group and/or a situation, they are at the mercy of their stakeholders’ wishes and whims.
The New Project Manager Mindset – Magnifying Impactis for leaders, programme and project managers who struggle with some aspect of engagement, communication and influence.
This presentation (and the workshop it represents) deals with the stuff we didn’t learn in the courses we took to become a leader and/or project manager, such as:
·Growing and nurturing team members
·Making decisions, fast, with little or no information
·Managing culture / interpersonal clashes
·‘Shaking up’ lagging, de-motivated or over-committed teams and individuals
·Leading and inspiring in the midst of uncertainty and ambiguity
·Understanding and overcoming resistance to change
·Presence, mindfulness and accessing the intuitive mind when all else fails
·Handling the big picture and the detail simultaneously
·Influencing and impacting those we engage with - upwards, downwards and sideways
