PMSA Conference: Next Generation Project Management

Call for Papers Issued

Developments in technology are influencing how we manage projects, and the changing face of our multi-generation workforce is giving rise to a different kind of energy on project teams. People are becoming more mindful of their personal and professional responsibility to the planet, economic development and sustainability in all its forms.

As the world continues to grapple with the challenges and opportunity associated with financial crises, natural disasters, social and economic development, productive energy is being focused on doing things right first time and delivering tangible return on investments in projects.  What we’re seeing is the next generation of project management and project managers. PMSA’s 2012 Biennial National Conference will explore Next Generation Project, Programme and Portfolio Management.

PMSA cordially invites academics, practitioners and enthusiasts to submit a high-quality, original abstract followed later by a final research paper for presentation at the PMSA National Conference 2012.

A Call for Symposium / Industry Papers has been issued, inviting industry practitioners to share best practices, lessons lerned, case studies and methodologies in line with the confrence theme.

PMSA INTRODUCES PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXELLENCE AWARDS

In 2012, PMSA introduces a three-pronged awards programme acknowledging local excellence in project management practice and research. All three awards will be presented at the PMSA National Conference in September 2012.








Exceptional Project Management Awards (EPMAs)

‘Exceptional’ means better than average, deviating from the norm, rare and unusual. It is these characteristics, relevant to project management that we seek to showcase and reward through the EPMA process.

The Project Manager of the Year Award

This seeks to recognise those project managers who are a credit to their discipline in that their practices are exemplary and their professionalism and credibility can be held up as an example in the project management realm. Candidates for this award must be nominated by their project teams / sponsors / line managers.

The PMSA Excellence in Research Award

This is awarded to acknowledge an individual for excellence in research. The PMSA Excellence in Research Award is the most prestigious prize awarded to researchers in the field of Portfolio, Programme and Project Management. The PMSA Excellence in Research Award is available to researchers who are members of PMSA.
